Traditional Games of Khmer New Year

In Khmer New Year also the time to play the games. We have a lot of games to play in Khmer New Year day, the important ways of the games are the traditional games only. We can play it at the home and also can play at the pagodas, too. The games that we play are Teanh Prot, Leak Kansang, Chol Chhoung, Chap Kon Kleng, Bay Khom, Bos Angkonh...

Chol Chhoung, this game play in two groups of boys and girls. There are 10 or 20 members comprise each group, standing in two rows opposite each other. One group throes the “Chhoung” to the other group. When it is caught, it will be rapidly throw back to the first group. If someone is hit by the “Chhoung” the whole group must be dance to get the “Chhoung” back while the other group sings and dance.
Teanh Prot is a game that play in the group, the members accord the players. They divided in two groups, the group that have a lot of energy will became the winner.
Leak Kanseang is a game that play with a lot of people. The people who join this game must be make the circle sitting. Then the people who sitting clap their hands and sign the songs, they have a person who catch the Kroma walk around them and put the Kroma at the back of someone that he or she want.
Bos Angkonh is a game that divided in two groups also, they through the Angkonh to hit other Angkonh that in other group, the group that can through the Angkonh to hit other Angkonh a lot is the winner. And the group that win are going to Jours by hit the knees of lose group (use by Angkonh).
